Best Practices Program

by Chris Curran last modified Apr 02, 2008 07:46 PM

Help physicians comply with best practices guidelines and hence provide better quality care to their patients.

How it’d work: Availity, through partnerships with payors such as Humana, has already connected payor databases to providers in Florida. SafeMed could use Availity’s payor-based EMRs as the base and add on its clinical decision-making layer (SafeMed Quality) to Availity’s foundation. Since Availity is already in providers’ offices, the adoption rate for a new SafeMed clinical tool should be higher and with lower entry barriers. SafeMed’s added capabilities will help providers identify gaps in medical care and deviations from best practice guidelines, effortlessly and within seconds at the point of care. The solution will enhance care management, help providers make better and well-informed clinical decisions, and hence improve the overall quality of health care.
